The Government of Canada issued Ministerial Instructions in regards to parents and grandparents super visa and the authorized period of extended stay. For eligible parents and grandparents, the Ministerial Instructions direct officers to consider issuing a multiple-entry temporary resident visa for up to 10 years with the status period extending for up to two years upon the initial stay, and to consider authorizing periods of stay for eligible visa-exempt applicants requiring an electronic travel authorization. The initial authorized period of extended stay is for up to two years. For any additional applications for extension, applicants are assessed as regular visitors.
