Ontario Immigration Act comes into force on January 1, 2018

By proclamation of the Lieutenant Governor, the Ontario Immigration Act comes into force on January 1, 2017.

The Preamble of the Ontario Immigration Act indicates, expressis verbis, the provincial government's commitment to implement "a vision of immigration to the province that recognizes not only the important role that immigrants play in growing the economy across Ontario but also the importance of family and humanitarian commitments".
