Government of Canada initiative in support of LGBTQ2 refugees

On June 1, 2019, the Government of Canada announced the introduction of the Rainbow Refugee Assistance Partnership, which will further support Canadians in privately sponsoring LGBTQ2 refugees. Set to launch in 2020, this initiative builds on the success of the Rainbow Refugee Assistance Pilot, and aims towards increasing the number of privately sponsored refugees from 15 to 50 per year.
